Entry systems ensure that the material runs into the slitter under constant tension, accurately positioned and level.

Strip positioning in front of the slitter takes place mechanically in our basic lines whereas in more complex production lines an automatic strip edge controller is installed. In this way, edge strip arising in production is minimised and scrap costs reduced.

For excellent cutting quality a minimal but constant strip tension before the slitter is necessary as well as devices that keep the strip level. B+S supplies several mature systems for this purpose:

According customer’s request the run-in section can be replenished with an infeed table and cropping shear or a foil device.
