Tool changing systems are used to shorten the tool changing times of the slitting shear.

Up to three or more cutting tool sets can thus be built onto the tool changer in advance.

Depending on customer requirements and productivity, the tool change is manual, semi-automatic or fully automatic.

b+s also supplies the complete tool set, software for the optimal setup of the tools can be ordered optionally.

Coil Cars

Safe transport for coils

For larger coil weights, the material is loaded onto the decoiler with a coil car. For higher productivity, a coil storage system and a core storage system can be used, as well as a coil gripping system to automatically load the decoiler or unload the empty core.

The coil car is used to remove the wound coils from the mandrel. Small coil weights are taken off manually or with a C-hook. For larger coil weights, b+s supplies the optimal coil unloading systems such as coil cars and turnstiles.

Precision lines, such as slitting or cut-to-length lines, produce scrap martial in small quantities. Therefore, b+s offers different options for edge strip handling.

Depending on the thickness of the material, the width of the edge strip and the speed of the line, the scrap strips are wound, chopped up or removed. Each time, the focus is on reducing the scrap content per coil to a minimum.

The right cutting burr measurement for every material

Burrs are one of the biggest obstacles to precision manufacturing and the automation of manufacturing processes. They arise in manufacturing processes as plastic deformations in the material and are defined as undesirable material protrusions beyond the workpiece edge. They cause problems in the inspection, assembly and factory automation of metal components.

Accurate measurement of the burr height is essential to characterize burr formation and to determine procedures to avoid or minimize the burr. b + s and FocalSpec have worked together to develop a new, non-contact and optical cutting burr height measurement system for quality control of cutting processes.
